NextLot, a fast-growing Raleigh, North Carolina based online auction software company, was founded in 2007. It has been revolutionizing the way timed-online and live webcast auctions are being run for auctioneers.

The NextLot Advantage™ is the fundamental difference between our organization and the competition – it’s what separates us, defines us, and sets us apart. It’s the understanding that the world’s best auctioneers deserve the best service, the best technology, and the best experience for their customers.

Our competitors believe that auctioneers should list their sales on public portals along with those of thousands of other auctioneers. By doing so, they expose your buyers to competition, buyers with whom you have spent decades building relationships based upon trust and respect. Our competitors believe that your advertising dollars should promote all of their sales, not just your own.

NEXTLOT BELIEVES that you want a better experience for your buyers. When bidding on an online auction or taking part in a live audio/video webcast, we think buyers should feel the same connection as they do when standing on the auction floor. That’s why we provide you and your clients with online bidding built right into your own website, so that your customers stay with you and your advertising promotes your sales. This approach is what makes NextLot who we are and what sets us above the rest.

ADVANTAGE

NEXTLOT'S STORY
NextLot is the vision of Scott & Norman Finkelstein and is the culmination of three generations in the auction industry. Norman ran plant machinery auctions with auctioneers for over 35 years. With Norman’s 35+ years of auction experience and Scott’s expertise in developing cutting-edge business software, the idea of NextLot was born. When online bidding first became popular, Norman began hosting his auctions on public portals, which were the only options available at that time. Norman became frustrated because he was sharing his bidders with his competitors while spending his marketing dollars to help promote their auctions. Norman thought there had to be a better alternative.

In 2007, Scott and Norman launched NextLot and started running privately branded online auctions for leading auctioneers who were experiencing the same frustrations Norman had voiced.  Fast forward to today, NextLot has sold $27 billion dollars in auction items worldwide across every industry.

Scott Finkelstein

CEO & CO-FOUNDER

Norman Finkelstein

CO-FOUNDER & ADVISOR

Norman has 50 years of experience in the auction industry. He was the President of All-State Machinery Corp, a used metalworking machinery dealership from 1977-1983. In 1983, he founded NPF Industries Ltd., which dealt with the brokerage, sale, liquidation, and auction of metalworking equipment. Norman was frustrated with the online auction solutions available to him as an operator because nothing enabled him to promote his own brand. For that reason, he filled a gap in the market and co-founded NextLot.
