Auction House Conducts Largest Auction Yet
Some auctioneers prefer to wait until spring to host farm auctions to avoid the harsh Midwestern winters, but one of NextLot’s clients has found that to be the perfect time to host its annual Late Model Agricultural and Construction auction. In the final week of January while bearing single digit temperatures, almost 900 pieces of equipment were sold while 500 users logged participated in the auction from the warmth and comfort of their homes and offices.
These 500 users gathered from 20 different states and three different provinces of Canada to engage in online bidding. Over $650,000 of equipment were sold online in the auction, including a 2014 John Deere 6190R Tractor for $109,000. Impressively, over one million dollars in absentee bids were left on the equipment which were then executed during the live auction using NextLot’s state of the art software. The system’s adaptability to simulate live auction online helped drive the total sold prices by over $325,000.
Since the auction was conducted in two rings, a new clerk was chosen to run the second ring of the auction.
