What’s a favorite memory you have growing up in the auction industry? What’s a favorite memory you have working in the auction industry?
My dad has been in and around the auction industry for 45 years. I remember traveling to machinery auctions with him as a kid and enjoying the excitement. My favorite memory since starting NextLot was selling 1840's vintage Veuve Clicquot champagne which was discovered in a shipwreck off the coast of Finland. It was amazing to sell a piece of history that was lost to the world forever and then recovered.
What about the company are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of our great team and the hard work and dedication they show to our clients every day. It is because of them that NextLot is such a great company and is why we hear that we offer such superior customer service which distinguishes us in the auction software industry.
What is your vision for the company?
An auction is the oldest method of selling that has been around for thousands of years. I want to continue to disrupt the industry and provide cutting edge technology to help auctioneers grow the businesses and see more bids and higher prices.

What’s a favorite memory you have working in the auction industry?
I have been working in the industry for 45 years, so I have a lot of them. The early days of our company going to Hong Kong and selling rare wine would have to be a favorite memory.
What about the company are you most proud of?
Our employees and customer service. Scott took an idea and formed it into the company that it is today.. He understood my vision and my idea and the way that we formulated them and developed them into a business is quite remarkable. One of our biggest accomplishments was making the INC 500 as one of the top growing companies in North Carolina.
What is your vision for the company?
We have to expand and get our latest development out in the public sector. Also, I’m excited about being able to expand globally. We have auctions all over the world which is a big accomplishment. There’s a lot on the horizon that we can hopefully achieve, and I think it’s all going to come from a new development strategy.

What’s a favorite memory you have working in the auction industry?
One of my favorite memories working in the auction industry was the first day I was introduced to the industry. I meet Scott back in 2007 and he asked me to come over on a Saturday to check out the software and see how it works. I had no clue what was going on. The phone was ringing off the hook and online bidders were going crazy for a real estate auction NextLot was running. At one point Scott yelled at me and threw his hand up for a high five. He told me we just sold a $500k condo online at the auction and what NextLot’s profit was. I had no idea what really happened or how it happened but I was hooked.
What about the company are you most proud of?
The way we have grown and evolved. We’ve had some tough times and have had to make some difficult decisions in the past. I’m proud of how we have handled everything that has been thrown at us along the way. I’m proud of our team and everyone that has helped get NextLot to where we are today. We couldn’t do it without the Account Associates, the Account Managers and Management all working together. The team we have now is awesome; I feel like we are in a great spot to continue to grow our business and dominate the auction software industry.
What is your vision for the company?
I have many visions for the company but the main one is to move our development forward. We have a ton of great ideas that we are excited to implement that should change the auction game.

Dale Finkelstein
Dale plays a key role in ensuring the success of NextLot through her wonderful ability to connect with people and assist them through NextLot’s system. Dale has assisted in the inception of NextLot and continues to be an advocate for the bidders who use the online bidding system.
What’s a favorite memory you have working in the auction industry?
I would say going to the Inc 500 awards ceremony. It was amazing because we achieved a wonderful level of successful and being recognized for it was great.
What about the company are you most proud of? What is your vision for the company?
One of the aspects of the company that I am most proud of is the team’s ability to work together like a big close-knit family. In the future, I hope that we continue getting more clients and make more improvements with the technology to keep on the cutting edge of things.
